| The Cumberland County Business Council works to enhance our community by being the voice for business at the local, state and federal levels of government. In order to ensure the interests of our members are truly represented, we attend numerous meetings of the Fayetteville City Council and the Cumberland County Board of Directors throughout the year and report important information discussed at these meetings to our members. We also maintain a presence at the state General Assembly during the legislative session and have teamed with the City and County to retain a federal lobbying firm to represent our interests at the federal level.
With over 150 community leaders in attendance, the CCBC hosted its first "Long Session" Eggs 'n Issues Legislative Breakfast on February 9, 2007. The event, sponsored by Fayetteville State University, featured Senator Tony Rand and Representatives William Brisson, Margaret Dickson and Marvin Lucas.
The second Eggs'n Issues will be held in June, near the end of the "Long Session." Details will follow at a later date. |
