As a candidate, what are your top three policy issues?
a. Economic Development- bring more and better paying jobs
to Cumberland county, while working to keep and improve the ones we have.
b. Safe/Cleaner Neighborhoods- use our inspection department
to enforce code to fine for old junk cars and overgrown yards.
c. have police officers enforce the speed limit, issue more
tickets. Get the community involved in community policing.
What specific NEW initiative would you suggest for economic
growth in Fayetteville? How would it be implemented? Create
insensitive package to attract industry for additional new jobs.
Can Fayetteville and Cumberland County successfully
consolidate/merge their governments? What would be the benefits/problems of
consolidating the two into one? Successfully consolidate/merge
their government. No, there are no right or wrong ways at this point. Where is
there any other merged government to compare with?
What do you believe to be the city council greatest
accomplishments and disappointments in the last two years? The city
council's greatest accomplishments are the adoption of the recycling program
and the enactment of the long overdue storm water drainage fee to address the
repair needs and issues. The disappointment is the number of years it will take
to complete and install sewage to the much needed area.
How should the
city best leverage the impact of the BRAC process? Believing this will be the
biggest and best thing that will happen to our community in our lifetime in the
way of population growth, job growth, housing developments, and business growth
opportunities. Let us keep putting our best foot forward in promoting and
selling the Cumberland County/Fayetteville area and convince families to move
to our area through BRAC and other military realignments, increasing our tax
base and improving the quality of life and education in our area.
How the city council and the business community can work
more effectively to build a better workforce? Communicate
more and often, ask the CCBC to make update reports before the city council on
a as-needed basis or every 90 days.
What would you do to work cooperatively with the other
members of the city council?
Communicate
business and socially with them and their family.
